My Dad never met his father until he was 23 years old, and his father was dying of cancer. My Dad was all excited to meet his father, went to visit him in the hospital. When my Dad arrived at the hospital room, flowers in hand, his father said "Yeah, I'll be with you in a minute," and went back to flirting with some nurse.
