"double clutching your bike makes you accelerate faster"

- My dumbass co-worker

"how can you even DO that on a bike?" i asked

I finally convinced him to explain it to me and what he described didn't even come close to resembling a double clutch. what he described was just whacking open the throttle while the clutch was disengaged & releasing the lever really fast. basically like clutching up a wheelie

sure it makes you accelerate faster for an instant, but not overall since the bike is out of gear longer than if you clutchless upshifted. "but that hurts your bike"

.... of course this is coming from a guy who had a 929rr that he bought for way too much money... plastic & frame damage and all

man, he's a bright one

So what do you guys do when someone's talkin bike or something you know really well & is TOTALLY WRONG?
