Rich, he said the words "double clutch" about 10 times... "Double clutching makes you accelerate faster".... and he clearly didn't know what it was despite telling me over & over he knew exactly what "double clutching" was. when i tried to walk him through double clutching to see if he knew what i was talkin about it was "Yeah dude, i know... i know how to double clutch a car, i can drive" (obviously not, since his new BMW didn't even have a front bumper for about a month cuz he rear ended someone
)
What he described was popping the clutch while "over rev-matching" (if you get my drift)... TWICE (he told me to snap the throttle two times, then pop the clutch, i forgot about that part)... as if he's trying to clutch up a wheelie... Anyway, you know what i mean and u also know that's just inefficient because the clutch is disengaged for so much longer than something like a clutchless upshift. Yeah, it makes the bike lurch cuz the flywheel is spinning faster than the drive sprocket, but results is overall slower acceleration because the bike is out of gear for so much longer. U know what i mean though, i don't have to explain it.
Hehe, He was also the one that told me that new tires take AT LEAST 100 miles to scrub in no matter how you ride and that i shouldn't have gone to the track w/ new tires... he told me i'm lucky i didn't wreck. He's also had a number of other things that have come out of his mouth about bikes & racing etc that just make me think "oh man... you're a dumbass"
Oh well.... bottom line is, this dude has no idea what he's talkin about and if you ever talked to him for more than 5 mintues you'd know he's dumb as a brick, too and you wouldn't even bother trying to play Devils Advocate
HAH! oh & he also talks about how he used to ride w/ some guys that are in the Rough Riders
at least he gives me a chuckle
