As for your second statement, no I don't believe the sons and daughters of corporate fat cats are enlisting. However, our society is not only made up of the disparate poor and vastly wealthy. I believe our military is made up of mostly middle-class citizens, regardless, our force is a voluntary one. If you really don't want to fight, you don't join up.
