| England So this summer I spent a lot of time with English People...some of the topics that were discussed where of history. Most of them don't like the European Union other than it lets them get across borders like us with Mexico and Canada (which is going to change in the year 2008, with all persons crossing either borders will need a passport).
My question to them and I am still really curious is how England had such power in European history but is such a tiny Island! You can fit England 5 times into the state of Texas.
The subject for some reason really fascinates me. I need to read some non-fiction books on the subject. I am also facinated with Henry the 8th? and all of his wives.
Anyone have any thoughts on it? I know its very random but i was wondering what other peoples curiosity's are.
Also we could go off on the Passport issue. Its amazing that the passport is supposed to be the top form of ID but countless times this summer my passengers were asked for another form of ID and some were refused service with there passport. We argued that one until a smart manager came by and told his dumb employee to use it!!
It is also funny that people cannot read the dates on the Passports. I had lots of underage passengers from Europe who were under 21 get served alcohol in the states because the waistaff was too dumb to figure out the date numbers, because the month and day are reversed. Quite Silly.
I have more but This is long as it is! |
