| Where's the outrage?!
Sorry, wanting our troops home so this doesn't happen again |= siding with the enemy. It gets made out like "those liberals" want our troops to die and want to hug the enemy. Unfortunately it's not so easy to label people when you aren't trying to discredit an opinion.
We've seen it happen more times than this and will continue to. Does it make it right? Not a bit. We are an occupying force in a hostile land. It will happen again.
Then again, it could be as simple as the "kill all the bad guys" statements. Yes, if they were all dead, we wouldn't have this issue. And yes, we are making progress. Two years from now if a soldier is captured and killed I expect more people to be "outraged" and want to go kill the people responsible and end this whole thing. No shit, that's what the military has been trying to do for 3+ years now. Be angry, be upset, feel for our troops but don't be surprised. |
