I was just messin' with ya. I agree. Changing the national anthem is a terrible idea. "They" are just suggesting it to bait people though.
The reality is: The first generation of folks move here and struggle with English. Some learn it well, some don't, and some don't learn it at all. They eventually have kids who learn both languages. When those kids have kids, they are lucky to learn the family language. I see it all the time.
I know plenty of folks who are children of immigrants. They all have good jobs and add to society and the economy. I also have two very good friends that are immigrants who came here in their teens. One makes over $100,000 a year as SW developer and the other quit his $70,000 a year engineering job to pursue his MBA at the Sloan School of Business at MIT. He's nearly done... Niether spoke English when they got here and both are now US citizens.
