Should we do the same for the pledge of allegiance? If so, then the first step would be to remove the "Under God" that was added to it in 1954 by Congress after protest by the Knights of Columbus.

By the way, the term "equality" was intentially left out of the pledge to get it to be approved by the states superintendants of education since they were against equality to women and african americans. Wouldn't that be a better addition instead of "Under God"? What would we want our country to represent more, religious beliefs or equality? Looks like we have our answer in the current pledge.


Our country isn't fair, has been biased towards the vast majority and doesn't bother me at all that someone sang a song in a different language that represents their appreciation and patriotism towards a country they love. English, spanish, yittish, whatever. They like their country so leave them alone.
