When learning a language, we make use of materials that have been translated from the language into a language that we understand. This helps our brain make connections between the foreign words and our native words.
Now, if only someone who understood both Spanish and English would translate common English materials into Spanish to aid in the process. Maybe start with some common English songs, since the song's meter might provide a helpful mnemonic device. Even better, a patriotic song which has roots in our country's birth and can be embraced by newcomers as both a means for learning the language and a means of displaying pride in their new country of residence.
Now if only immigrants didn't HATE AMERICA so much, maybe they'd get off their LAZY WELFARE ASSES and do something like this.
