Hayabusa front fender mod w/ paint

I wanted to try something a little different with my 06 front fender. Basically, I wanted it to have a little more stlye to it. Kinda how the Gixxer fender looks. This fender was the original from a small crash I had earlier this year. (long story LOL)
I had to paint a couple of sets of Busa mirrors today for some friends, and figured I finish up this project too.
Sorry I dont have a before and after. Just after, but I dont really care about the before anyway... I used the Color Rite Eurethane with some 2 part Clear coat.
Needless to say, today was a productive day to say the least.
    Hope you likey!!

    Yeah, looks nice.

I wanna paint the white parts of my bike (tail side covers, lower of each side fairing) to match the blue parts, so it's solid.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to paint like that. All I know is Color Rite touch-up pen...

    Hey brendanp,

    Looks awesome!

I just recently used the Colorite 2 part clear coat and
it just sorta beaded up and never really got smooth.
Looked like lotsa little beads on the surface of my final
    paint coat.

Did you use a pro-paint gun? Or the aerosol propellant they
they sell? I have the aerosol propellant and I'm not sure what
    color nozzle tip to use.

Also how glossy does the final paint coat need to look
for the final result to look good?

I've spent alot of time and breathed in alot of fumes for
    some shitty results.

If it beaded up, sounds like you needed to lay on on thicker. (heavier coats otherwise known as "dry spray") Whenever you paint, your first coat needs to be a light coat. Never try to cover the part complete on the first coat. Always paint your edges first then the rest.

I used an aerosol can of adhesion promoter and aerosol can of the color rite.
The clear is a 2 part professional can sprayed out of a gun.
Most of your paints (color) dry dullish. No need to try to get the glossy look from the paint! This is what the clear is for.
Proper flash off times are needed in between all coats.

it also could be the surface was dirty and it fisheyed on you or since your using an aerosol that could mean the tip is getting extra fluid on it from stopping and going. wipe away an drips on the tip and then keep spraying. clear is one of the hardest things to learn. spray it on to thick you get runs spray it on to light you get dry spots. you wont see these dry spots until everything is dry.
