music while you ride

ear canal phones are by far best on a bike; earpods don't seal well enough to be effective

ear speakers such as koss plugs require the user to roll foam and stick it in the ear before expanding again to isolate the wearer from external noise. they can be a problem for some people.

Etymotics provide a seal with silicone that just gets stuffed in and doesn't need to expand.

my personal favorite is sennheisers cx300. rubber plugs provide the seal, they go in easy and are small so that your earpads don't knock them loose when putting on and taking off a helmet. they are also near 50 bucks and sound quality is between the koss plugs and the high end earspeakers.

i have a 4 gig zen (creative) that holds lots and sorts all kinds of ways, also got a remote with this so the player is stashed away while i can do volume and track; if you pod you need the remote and volume control. like chuck says ^ danger! maybe you should play police sirens, that might get you to slow down (bfg)
