Do you realize how many players are/were taking steroids? A LOT. Pitchers included. But because this is the "big" record, people are getting all kinds of pissed.
Plus it kills me how naive people were on this. It took McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds all to blow up 40 lbs each over a couple of years and start hitting 60-70 homeruns for people to realize there's steroids in baseball.
I really can't argue anybody's position on this...he obviously took roids, but on the other hand he is still one of the greatest hitters of all time.
Selig is the real shithead. If he implemented a steroid testing policy 10-15 years ago, then players would be taking steroids/beating tests like every other sport(esp.NFL), but the naive public wouldn't be bitching about anything. Now Selig is being a self-righteous douche about Bonds. |
