Looking for advice on Cordless Impact Wrenches

I don't have a garage or much space to store my tools and so I am looking to purchase a cordless impact wrench instead of getting a full air tool setup. I pretty much always wrench on the bike/car with hand tools, but sometimes power tools are nice to make things go quicker.

Any advice/experiences with cordless impact drivers?

Amazon.com: Bare-Tool Makita BTW251Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Impact Wrench (Tool Only, No Battery): Home Improvement
I have been using one of those at work for 2 years, and it has been excellant. It has enough torque to remove lugnuts, flywheels, etc.

+1 on MAKITA. Checkout cpo-outlet or something like that. Great price and service.

I know there has been a rash of tire thefts in Manchvegas since they invented these things. Kids rolling up in a truck with a jack braaaap braaaap see you later with some tire in tow. They are stealing anything these days. We had an incident where at one of the park and rides some a holes with cordless sawzalls cut all the catalytic converters out of the cars to re sell. WTF

    FTW Recession.

Brand names and 18v is the way to go with impacts.

i am a huge fan of Makita! when i was in my Building Trades course, we had tons of different brands of impact guns, and every one always went for the Makita because it was the best.

Are you using this for carpentry or on cars/bikes?? If on a car or bike it may not meet your needs in the torque dept. Those are much better off used for carpentry and drive in screws. Not taking off torqued bolts etc.

to that. I tryed to use my 18v Makita impact to take off my KTM front sprocket..., wasnt happening. But, it is the cats ass for driving in screws/ lags. Their drills are nice, IMO the sawzall they have is junk. The skilsaw is probably one of the nicest, but it lasted less then a year on our jobs.

Dont get me wrong I LOVE my makitas but they just have never done anything to remove stuck bolts. Get a corded impact gun or get a small compressor and a few select air impact tools.
