Re: Non-ethanol gas -- what stations have it?

Are there any fuel stations around Boston offering 95? I found only 93 so far.

I bought a new streetfighter and the manual recommends 95octane fuel.
    Warning
Use low-lead fuel with 95 octane rating at origin
minimum (see “Top-ups” table, page 109).
Be sure there is no fuel trapped in the filler recess.

    Page#109-
TOP-UPS: Fuel tank, including a reserve of 2 cu dm (litres)
TYPE: Unleaded fuel with 95 fuel octane rating (at least)
I have been using 93 as thats what I could find,
what are other ducati riders using???

That measurement of 95 is likley not using the RON+MON/2 (or AKI) method that is used in the states. I'm guessing that is 95 RON (research octane number), which roughly equals 91 here in the states. It's very strange to not be specific about the number given, considering there are 3 different ways to report octane numbers.

i checked a few ducati owners manuals. in the technical data section under "fuel system" they list...

    Fuel supply: 95-98 RON
...which equates to 91-93 AKI. AKI is what US and CA pumps are labeled, and is calculated as (R+M)/2.

Thanks for the link. I've got two two stroke outboards and a chain saw I'd like to run ethanol free.

surprisingly, my chainsaw is the one thing I have never had an ethanol fuel problem with, and sometimes the fuel sets for some time, I keep a 7 gallon container of premium that is stabilize with marine stabil on hand for my small equipment use that to mix 50:1 with premeasured bottles one gallon at a time

If you are really concerned about the best fuel for your saw, Bailey's Logging Supply sells premixed 50:1 and 40:1 made by VP

Most OPE dealers, Lowes and HD sell 32 ounce cans for around $6. That's fine for the chainsaw and small outboard but the 15 hp is thirstier.

Interesting. Last summer I rebuilt a 2-stroke Husky line trimmer. The fuel line and ever seal in that thing was half eaten. I had to replace everything. I assumed it was the ethanol. The replacement bits the dealer sold me were of a noticeably different material. Particularly the fuel line.

Anyone go to Hampton NH airport? Website says they are open 8am to dusk. Apparently you can only pump into a can, not a vehicle, and the price was listed as $4.95 per gallon for 93.

Ethanol and some other additives are only added into the tanker as it leaves the distribution center.... nobody wants ethanol in their storage tanks or pipelines...

Stopped by Hampton Airfield. It's right off Rt 1. Pump is self serve (pay by credit card) and $4.95 per gallon. You can park about 30' away.

The Haffners in Hudson, NH, does have ethanol-free, but it's 100 octane, for about $10 a gallon.
