For what it's worth, the Ninja250 is an excellent learning platform, very easy bike to handle, bullet-proof motor with cheap parts available everywhere, and will teach you how to ride a bike to it's full potential. I started on the 250, and have owned my fair share of bikes since then, but if I had to do it all over again I'd go right back to that little Ninja. But to each his own...
