Yep. Sounds more like a rap. I was thinking maybe a wrist pin, but it's hard to tell exactly where the sound is even coming from. I have a friend that's supposedly good with bikes and he offered to check it out once I get it back together.
If it was the tensioner, like it really sounded like it was, when it goes it allows the timing chain to shave metal off castings that it runs very close to (due to the slop from having little to no tension). At least I know it's not that, which would have trashed the engine in fairly short order. |
