I remember, about 23 years ago, driving with my then 3 year old son, and seeing a bumper sticker that said 'SHIT HAPPENS' and wondering how I was going to try and instill any sense of values in my son when that kind of thing was everywhere. Common sense and decency seemed to have taken a permanent vacation.
Years have passed and I have learned that my sons sense of whats right and wrong comes from me, his mother, and OUR values and that none of the outside stuff really mattered.
Still....can't help longing for a more gentile time when 'Shit Happens' was a quiet laugh among good friends and not some asswipes decision to impose his lack of any standard on everyone...
btw...pretty funny post. I have seen those things and they don't make me laugh...but then, I have no sense of humor. |
