| Re: First Gen R6 Height It's always interesting that the self appointed experts on the web will tell you how much to move the height, but not one tells you where to end up. The 99-02 R6 has a major flaw in the geometry, it's the same flaw as the Triumph 675. They used 40 mm clamp off sets to reduce trail. The problem is that, although the bike flicks in to the corner easily, as soon as the bike starts to lean in you lose feel and grip. To fix this we had to extend the forks, raise the front way up, and balance the swing arm angle between exit grip and mid corner feel. The difference between the 60 and 70 series tire is too small to fix this, but I'd go with the 70 for the additional trail. It's still way to short, but an extra mm or two won't hurt you. |
