| Re: Gotta Cut The Road Back First... Okay, I'll definitely be out there mosta the weekend. Just about everyone I had lined up hadta bail out for various things that came up. It's all good...
Technically, we can't ride those 'trails' 'til mud season is announced over by the local road agent - which'll most likely be mid-May. They're Class 6 discontinued roads but still fall under his authority. I'll have my ute-quad out there primarily for winch use & pulling, but that isn't to say I won't errantly (?) end up going for a ride...
My primary objective is gonna be to cut-back & clear the 1/4 mile or so of road down to my property. There's plenty of undergrowth & brush that needs clearing and some decent sized trees now lay across the road. My goal is to get it cleared enough that nobody would feel uncomfortable driving down to it. As it is now, if it weren't for the downed trees I'd have no problem taking my pick-up down there *IF* I still had it. But that's me, others may feel differently...
If time allows, I'll be starting on a parking area big enough for a coupla vehicles with trailers and enough room to turn around with 'em. That'll most likely involve felling some meduim-sized trees and cutting 'em to firewood lenth and stacking on pallets for now...
The only mechanized vehicle I'll be using for now is the 4x4 'Cat. Big Shirl's still not convinced we need a tractor. I'm REALLY hoping that changes soon! |
