Anyone ever shortened their exhaust canister?

Just wondering if this is difficult and if anyone has done this? I like the look and I just got a 2 bros full exhaust to replace the V&H slip on I have now, but the canister has some scratches at the bottom and I'd like to shorten it if it's not too much work.

If anyone knows how to do this or knows someone that can do it please let me know. I don't suppose it would be too difficult... I just don't have the tools or knowledge of how to do it. I remember seeing a video on youtube on how to do it but I can't find it now.

Also if you DON'T think it's a good idea, I want to know why...
