I agree. Especially in point and shoot cameras, megapixels is a very misleading term that people assume equals quality. That's not to say that the OP's camera is of poor quality, but MP's aren't the best way to judge the quality of a camera.
As for myself, I shoot a Nikon D80 DSLR. Someday I'll learn to use it even close to it's potential...
