Re: speeding ticket in Canada?

Ok...let me help you with that. My husband got bagged "a few times" years ago for excessive speeding....ended up in jail for the night....each time. (funny thing is...this is the first time I hear of it, he had told it happened only ONCE...tee heee....) he said that in Quebec, they can, and apparently most likely will, inpound your bike, send you behind bars for 40 miles over speed limits (depending on the speed limit zone). It is considered wreckless and criminal driving. The fines he got were about $250 (he said the lady judge must have liked him because she reduced the fine to $250, so it was higher) I'm sure it's much more now..that was about 10 years ago. You still feel the need for a joy ride up in my neck of the woods?

I would have been in jail many times by now...and so quite a few more in here, uh? lol (Going at 160km/h in a 100km/h maximum highway speed zone, for exemple....)

edit: If Quebec/Canada has reciprocity with the state you live in, you will have demerit points on your drivers license according to the ones you would loose in Quebec with said commited offense, not your own state.
