Eating simple carbs generally only makes you want to eat more carbs...eating protein will fill you up, at least thats what I tell

There is a crapton of science that I'm leaving out that others will elaborate on, but in short - veggies are nice, but lean meats are where it's at. Just gotta make sure you incorporate some veggies in there. The crisper the better (so salads are cool, but don't think the lettuce is doing ya any favors). Try to use baby spinach in place of lettuce and you'll be doing yourself a favor too.
