| Re: Tag Heuer Cell Phone ??????? Probably they noticed that most of the young generation don't wear watches anymore. They say, "Why do I want a watch. I can always look at my phone if I want to know what time it is." So, you do your market segmentation, determine your addressable market for your core product is shrinking, find out where it's going, and get into that business.
None of that says they'll be successful convincing Cell Phone users that the 'clock/watch' funtionality is a competitive differentiator. My guess is they will fail miserably unless there are other compelling technological advantages, ala iPhone. |
