Is the nose of the bike on the bike? The tipover sensor is in the nose.

the nose is not on the bike, but I have it on the ground in front of the bike facing in the right direction and upright.

I will be tinkering tonight on it if you want to swing by, going to try and jump it, confirm that it has 12v across the pump, and then pull the pump and have a look at it if that doesn't work.

Zener diode in the lock cylinder? Is the bike salvage or anything? Any lock damage?

Why not just unplug the pump and put power directly to it? Ensure you isolate the correct leads and jump the battery to it.

my $ is on TOS not being oriented right... You can ohm it out if you have the right resistors handy.

Updates:

OK after a busy few days I got back at it today. First thing I did was jump the bike using my car's battery; boy did that make a big difference! The bike definitely was down on power because a lot of crap lit up that didn't before, and the fuel pump relay did the double click as Degsy described, still no prime though .

So now I turn the bike on, I hear click (the fuel injection light "lights up" on the speedo) and then another click 5 or 6 seconds later and the light goes out. No prime. I pull the tank out, drained it, and pulled the pump. I found that the wire that is getting power is the gas gauge wire . The wire that should power the pump is getting no power at all. Back traced that wire back and it comes from the same relay the fuel gauge wire comes from. I can get the fuel gauge wire to show power but not the power for the pump. That being said, I'm not an excellent electrical person so I may not just be touching the right connections with my gauge, I doubt it though because as I said I can show power on the fuel gauge wire pretty quickly.

I tried to jump the pump directly, no dice. I connected positive and negative leads directly from the battery to the fuel pump connections and still no pumping. So I think my problem is two-fold, no power to the pump, and if power is there nothing happens. But again I could have been jumping it wrong, I'm very new to trouble shooting this.

As I have the fuel pump out of the tank, does anyone have a spare fuel pump that I could plug in and see if it runs, if it does I know it's my pump at least? Anyone decent with electrics on the bike want to come and have a look? Bike is all torn apart so the wiring is easy to access. With my limited knowledge I'm pretty stumped right now. Bike does run though, I poured a little gas into each intake cycling and pressed the button, she fired right up and ran for 30 seconds before sputtering back to quiet.

Please help!

My f4i did something similar and it was due to the wire contacts in the kill switch being corroded/ damaged

The kill switch works though, when I switch it off and on the fuel pump relay does the proper priming clicks...

Take it apart, pretty easy to take it off

Just pulled it apart, cleaned the connections and put back together, switch works good but still no prime :-(

I have pretty much narrowed it down to the fuel pump itself at this point. I know the pump is getting power (I tested it), and it still isn't running. I applied power directly to the pump and it isn't running. So last night I ordered a new pump. Neil has been trouble-shooting it with me over the phone here and there, but I'm enjoying trying to figure this one out on my own.

Take out the fuel pump and ohm out the wires. There could be a break in the wiring.

when my f4i felt starved at the end once, i thought it was the fuel pump too, but it was not, easiest things to check is the fuel line and breather hose from the tank, make sure its not kinked, and f4i's do not like running on empty, at least 1/4 tank , i'd splash some fuel into the carbs and try restarting it, it should start, thats if the engine is any good and if it dies then you know you aint getting fuel into the carbs, then i'd go with the fuel pump theory.
