I absolutely love this bike and it's kind of breaking my heart to do this...but I'm not riding it much and I want to make room for a dirt bike.
2006 KTM 450 SMR
This is the 'from the factory' supermoto race bike.
I'm the original owner with MSO in hand.
This is not currently street legal. I've never looked into how to do it and don't have any desire to, so please don't ask
Some of you have ridden this and know it's well set up. It took me to 20 flat at Loudon when I was racing and there was more to be had. It's definitely teens ready for the right rider.
43hrs on the meter. Top end and suspension were refreshed at the 35 hr mark. All riding since then has been sporadic track day sessions while working with Tony's
Fairly fresh Pirelli slicks. Lots of life left
Crank polished/welded/balanced
16.5" front wheel
Tri-Star 10mm triples (can't get them anymore)
Scott's steering damper
Barkbusters hand guards with sliders
SME axle sliders front/rear
KTM peg sliders
Brembo 4 pad caliper with Ferodo pads (awesome stopping power!)
Brembo radial master cylinder with lever
Short clutch lever
Hot start lever on bars
SX pipe and dyno tuned/jetted appropriately (stock comes with the EXC pipe)
Oil changed every track day or race weekend. Filters every other oil change.
17" spare rain wheels/tires
Other spares I'm surely forgetting.
Asking $4500 obo.
Will entertain trades for the right woods bike (looking for a 250), but I have my eye on one locally if/ when this sells.
Bike is currently in the DC area. I'll be at a bunch of TTDs throughout the season starting with the NY double dates in May. I'll be up in the PA Area in the next few weeks as well, so can definitely arrange to get the bike north
I'll take some additional pictures in the next day or two.

I like the KTM 450 lineup a lot. That is what I would race if I didn't race a TZ. It is a rather sensible selection.
Bumping this back to the top. Haven't really put any effort into selling, but moving back cross country this summer and wouldn't object to some extra cash and trailer space.
Rode it a few wet TTD sessions in CT this past summer. Otherwise it's just been looking pretty in the garage. Someone take this racing and use it for what it was designed!!!
Let's see if we can alleviate these concerns
It's lower than a regular dirtbike. It only weighs 250 lbs so you can hold the damn thing on its ear with one leg no problem! It's so well set-up that it practically balances itself. Since it's a trackbike you really only have to worry about it until you get rolling on hot pit. It's not like you're trying to put feet down at a stoplight.
As far as costs.... Tires will last you at least a season, if not more, depending on your pace. It only takes a liter of oil. Brake pads last for years! It could prob use a new chain, but that'll last for years as well. Keep up on the oil changes and this "mouth" doesn't require much.
How's that? Ready to do a deal?!![]()
