I used the standard Pitbull baseplate and latch "stuff" that you can see in the pic. Everything else is scrap I had laying around. Mostly 1" round bar and 1" square tubing. I just bolted it to the tool box and machined pivots so that bar can flip up and down. That way I can unlatch it from the baseplate, flip that bar up and roll it into the garage.

    Not a great pic, but:

Threaded rod welded to plates, screwed into the framing. I turned some cones on the lathe to keep the brake discs and bearing seals from getting damaged.
The threads are really coarse, so I can easily remove them by hand.

On a commercial vehicle, no. On a personal vehicle, I don't know. Sometimes its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

had to replace the floor in mine.. found a spot that rotted out because the stupid door seal leaked.. water pooled up in the corner.. what a pain in the ass to do the floor.
especially if you are trying to not spend money.. LOL.. i didnt want to replace the sheet metal so I figured vinyl would make it pretty again.. good idea in theory but a major pain in the fn ass to do.
i butchered every panel so far... I used white carbon fiber. also replaced the lights.. new harness. new vent.
    still need to do.
new brakes and drums.. install a brake controller. new tires ..
new skins on doors because it came with tail lights in the doors ( stupid ) so I relocated them which left me with 2 holes in the door.

What brake controller did you go (are going) with? I still need to get one for mine, and a brake actuator. I'm looking at DirecLink.

The several thousand camper trailers on the road would indicate "yes".

That was my thinking also. Reason I brought up commercial vehicles is Marcelo (landscaper) told me he has to store his fuel containers inside his trailer.

Makes you wonder what landscapers with open trailers do...or if Marcelo is just being a foreigner...again.

    Re: Track Trailer Build

What are people using for cabinets in their trailers?

The designated trailer cabinets are super-pricy (aluminum, etc.)

Last year I bought a couple of rubbermaid type drawer systems and that was a disaster. They had a place to put a pad-lock on one end of the door, so I figured I could put a pin through that and it would keep the door closed, but the doors are too flimsy...which means the whole idea of putting a pad-lock on that for any type of security is a total farce. I feel deceived.

That said, I bought some foam board insulation and I'm getting ready to put that behind the luan for sound and R value (I use a little heater in my trailer at NYST at the beginning and end of the season, and picked up a free-standing a/c unit last year that I think will be nice in July/August.
