Honestly, it would probably be more confusing to a theif. Just don't tell your insurance agent.

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

Well time to come full circle. She is done. For now. See you boys tomorrow at Palmer.

Lets check out the start list and see how I've done:

Here is the smart list, that may be able to be done this year:
-Pirellis Dunlops are all NYST had
    -Engine covers
    -Rear-sets Woodcraft
-Levers Came with a pazzo brake, I bought the matching clutch
    -Clip-ons Woodcraft
    -Spool Sliders
-Set sag, adjust clickers Done by GMD
    -Frame geometry assessment GMD
-I want to get rid of the ignition and go to a on/off switch Woodcraft

Here is the desired list (maybe next year):
    -Aftermarket fork internals
-New Rear Shock - Sorta, I got a rear spring
-Someone on triumph675.net suggested the attack racing rear linkage. Anyone know anything about that?

Here is the DO NOT NEED BUT WANT list:
    -Triple clamps Attack
-New slip-on (currently it has a generic carbon fiber can) - Kates showed me that mine was turned into a custom FMF powerbomb type thing and now has some weird mid pipe in it. Leaving this for now.
    -Paint

Now lets look at what was done that was not on the list:
    -Driven, chain and sprockets -1/+1
    -Front and rear pitbull stands
    -Replacement bolt kit for spares
    -Replaced bent subframe
    -Replaced cracked gauge cluster
-Replaced air box sensor - NO MORE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!

And now, what you've all been waiting for. Pictures. Paint is better than I ever could have hoped for!

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

Feeling pretty good about body position for the first time in a long time. I was working really hard to break bad habits from before and I think I was pretty successful. We'll work on lean angle next...but I was pretty consistent with body position and knee down in a few corners, so I think the shots Arcy took just did not capture me at max.

Are you finding a way to hookup your heel/ankle into the bike? The woodscraft rearsets heelguard don't seem to reach far enough.

I'm seriously considering a switch to 675 for a track bike

My heel tends to sit on the swingarm. Not ideal, but functional.

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

Currently signed up for Penguin Track Experience this Friday (hope to see some of you guys doing racer practice) as well as the Tony's August 10/11 at Palmer.

My dunlop Q3s still have a lot of life in them and will probably make it through all of these days. I completely forget what the dunlop guys told me to run for pressures, but I did some googling at the last track day and saw that a lot of people were running 33/30 cold and that they should heat up to 35/34 hot....and what do you know, they did.

This seemed to work well at the pace I was running. These are much higher pressures that I was used to running, but every tire and mfg is different.

Do these seem in the ball park?

have you ridden Palmer yet? Just did it yesterday, oh man what a crazy track! was very glad I had the Attack triples on. It was my first time using them, and the bike seemed to be flipping side to side quite easily.

    I have, it was awesome.

As far as I know, all else equal, the new triples should make flipping the bike side to side slightly more difficult that absolute stock. Which offset did you go with?

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

I'm running the #1 (29mm). Yeah I thought so, but it felt great. I mean unless I just got better at rolling off to flick it over. The real test will be going back to thompson where I know the track and how the bike worked before.

I also pulled my clipons in a good amount for the last session, and that seemed to feel much better. I've been having a really hard time getting down around the tank because I can't hold onto the bar like that. Kind of seems like the bars are too low.

Thanks, I went a bit overboard from my initial plans, but that is typically how it goes.

I'm fairly certain Kates installed the #3 offset for my bike.

As for the clip-ons...during my first attempt at installing the woodcraft clip-ons I learned that if you install them upside down they sit about 2 inches higher than when installed correctly. You may be able to just flip the sides.

haha it seems many people do that, myself included. however, that felt very awkward and is not the solution I would try to use. I different clipon may be in order, however. Do you notice the same issue trying to get down alongside the tank? My forearm hits the tank before my elbow can get down.

I personally love this point of contact with my bike. I found myself able to get off the bike as much as I felt was necessary, but riding styles can vary a lot.

    Nope.

When I first installed them I noticed they were sitting very high. I then realized I installed them upside down and re-installed them the other way. They're woodcraft 3 piece clip-ons. Scroll up for pictures of where they sit.
