    Weird electrical blip

So I took my 2013 Pikes Peak in this morning for inspection and to get a slight oil leak at the stator cover taken care of.

I picked it up in the afternoon, and was told the leak was fixed. The crank end was leaking, the bolts were torqued, everything was cleaned, no more leak.

I go out for a ride two hours later and about 15 minute into the ride, stopped at an intersection with the clutch in... It feels like the bike nearly shuts off and restarts. I did nothing, the entire time, except after this happened I raised the RPM's fearing a possible stall. But, no problems

I ride on. Eat dinner in Concord MA. Go back out to the bike, start it up (no hesitation) and ride home without a hiccup...

    But what just happened?

I caught it all on my gopro, you can hear it and see the reflection of my headlights go on and off in the back of the SUV I'm behind.

    Any idea's what this is?

    Happy Thursday everyone

I think you're on the right track, just guessing from the video but an ignition or ground connection loose or corroded might do it.
Do you have anything like a power commander in it? It's been years, but I have seen the connections for a power commander get moisture in them and prevent starting/running.

Is it fly by wire because it seemed to catch itself

Usual response 1/2 can seafoam in next fill up

I would also clean and tighten battery connections first, loose ones act like that

Thanks guys. No power commander. I'm worried that since the service I had done involved fixing a leak in the stator area, something is loose or fowled up in there.

Seems like a loose battery connection to me as well. An IAC issue could cause the idle speed to drop, but I do not see how that would affect the headlight, so it has to be electrical affecting the idle speed, not vice-versa.

Well, the battery was in there pretty snug. And looked undisturbed from service since it still had a nice coat of pollen on everything. :\

A Its a Duc thats what you paid for... the adventure

B What is the aftermarket fuse line going to

C If they are good mechanics and had to unlug stuff they are supposed to disconnect at least one lead from the battery

Just loosen the terminal screws wiggle the leads then tighten, I would also see where the black negative grounds to the fram

A I have never complained about this bike, once. It is the finest motorcycle I have owned or ridden since 1989. It is my true love.

    B Nada

C You got me there. They may have, the pollen is coming down heavy crazy and it's possible they did but the pollen dusted the bike after.

Gave it all of the wiggle action and secure. Battery leads are tight and in contact. Thanks for the feedback Stromper, it's very much appreciated!

So I rode around all day today. Not a hiccup, or a moment of uncertainty. I am starting to wonder if maybe my wife inadvertently played footsie with the kickstand and triggered the sensor for a brief moment.
