Need a good contractor for exterior door

Need a new exterior door, custom height (standard width), built for my workshop. Would prefer steel / beefy setup and good deadbolt, etc.

The one there now is a wood with particle core that was just trimmed to height and water got up inside the bottom and swelled. So as you can see it's gotten some damage and it's been repaired and patched a couple times. Would like someone to do it right as it appears someone tried to force it open recently and the deadbolt was the old thing that saved it.

Let me know who can get this figured out.

    are you still in waltham?

are you comfortable measuring if I told you what I needed? Worst case I could come measure.

    How is the frame?

Re: Need a good contractor for exterior door

I live in waltham, the door is a couple towns away. I looked at the damage a little more and don't think it was a breakin attempt anymore, I think I know what happened. Either way, it needs to be redone, and correctly. I am pretty capable but wondering if someone professional would do things a little differently.

Yes I can measure it. The door is a standard width (30.5") but cut to a custom length, it's only about 59" as it goes into a small step-down storage room.

The frame looks pretty good but may need to be beefed up on the hinge side.

I am thinking a custom-height steel exterior would be ideal. I guess a solid wood would be ok as well.

Let me know what you think.

Shoot me a PM with your # and we'll chat about it. I didn't know this was your profession? I'm relatively capable but not a pro and want this to be done right this time.

Let me know if you need anything, even if its just the door itself.

Yeah, I still don't have a solution/person mapped out. Duncan was going to ask a buddy about getting the door but hasn't heard back yet.

Still haven't coordinated with anyone to come look at this. Any suggested folks who do good work? Would like to sort out before the winter.
