    Sportbike tires with white lettering

I've scoured the internet quite a bit, can't find ANY sportbike tires with white lettering on it, a la Chipper's Magna. Am I missing something or do they simply not exist?

I saw some internet reviews of various kits that do that, appeared to be very time consuming to do right and in the end the paint didn't last very long. I wonder if anyone on here has any first hand experience with that stuff?

Re: Sportbike tires with white lettering

I've done it a couple times on my race tires & BOMO used to do it back when they sold tires at NHMS.

Just used a paint pen, colored in "Pirelli" or "Diablo" and left it at that. Didn't need to be perfect and the tire was toast before it wore off.

If you want EVERYTHING colored in all perfect like, then yeah, it's gonna take a while.

I totally hear what you're saying, and I'm not hesitating because I'm anal and want to paint everything, but I'm thinking that since my bike is primarily a street bike it'd be frustrating to have to keep painting them. Hell, I can't imagine the paint is crazy expensive, I might as well just get some and see for myself how well it works...

Yeh. Just do one word or something... won't take long to do & redo when needed. Looks better if it's used sparingly, anyway.

Sounds like a neat thing to do. With my times I'm sure the paint will wear out long before the tires do.

Re: Sportbike tires with white lettering

I've used white out to mark car tires when switching between summers and snows. Does it stay 100% perfect white forever? No. Can you still read it next year? Yes.

First you screw, then you bolt.

I did it a while ago with some of that white paint stuff, but after a while it started to turn yellow. Not like a cool Pirelli yellow, but a nasty pirate hag's teeth.

I did a set of Pirelli MTR60 Corsas in yellow, lasted longer than the tires

if you try doing is on the bike, it is tedious , but painting the lettering with a paint stick before you mount the tires it goes pretty quick

Diagraph GP-X paint markers work excellent

Dunlop did it on our tires in Daytona.

Iv done it and have tried various pente and even white-out.
Tires get dirty and it will eventually turn yellow/brown. How soon depends on how much you ride and how dirty the roads you ride are.
You can't wash it; it doesn't do anything.

Do it with the tires off the rims

One of my pit mates had some rub ons from Dunlop that weren't paint more like a small sticker. Similar to vinyl but something that stuck really well to the rubber. Wonder if Stevie Dunlop can get them for the Dunlop users in the crowd.

I've never used white, only yellow on Pirelli, blue on Avon, and red on Michelin
