    Bazazz Autotune

Good enough? trackdays/hopefully amateur level racing. Or does it really make a big difference to get it properly tuned. I already have the Autotune, so not putting out money for it.

Good enough is a judgement call, but I hear they suck.

It can only tune to a target A/F Ratio which may or may not be where that motor makes it's most power at that operating point...

Another vote for sell it on CL and use the money to pay for a good tune.

I had one on my street r1. The thing I didn't like the most about it was you had to hook a computer up to it, start the program, go ride, come home, hook the computer back up to it, read the results, choose to implement all or some of the results. I just wished it did it automatically. Like you set your air/fuel levels and it just regulated it while you ride.

Probably works better in a track situation where you come in after 20 minutes. It's meant more for use on a dyno anyways, technically.

    Re: Bazazz Autotune

I'd say its good enough for trackdays and amateur level racing. That said, it doesn't take the place of a proper tune by a good dyno tech. I used the Autotune on the B bike ('08 R6) at the beginning of last year and the bike did very well all season. I pulled the Autotune out because both bike went down to Markbilt Racing over the winter for, inter alia, a proper tune. Another buddy swore by the one he had on his built gixxer 1k, which he raced for 2 or 3 years with LRRS. If it were me, since you already have the Autotune, why not use it for now ... then if an opportunity presents itself to get a good tune, go for it.
