A 2,000 watt Honda inverter generator sure seemed sweet before I got a 31' toy hauler.

Now I'm trying to decide between selling my 2K W unit and going bigger, or getting a second one and running the two in parallel.

Noise is a big deal since I am likely to run my generator at night, with people in tents fairly close to me.

I was wondering if anybody had used two inverters in parallel and/or had input on the decision.

Here's what I see as the pro's / cons of going in parallel:
Pros:
Still have 2 "small" generators in case I need one that's super portable
Fewer transactions (1 buy vs. 1 sell and 1 buy).
Seems to be no option for 4k watts in the Honda inverter lineup (big gap between 3K-7K)
Appears to be cheaper than the 3K option, even with parallel kit cost included
Possible to "buddy up" with someone who already has a 2K Honda.

Cons:
2x units to maintain (doesn't seem to be a big deal, just oil changes?)
2x the likelihood of breakdown?
slightly higher fuel consumption under equal or no load?

Neutral / unknown:
Fuel tank size irrelevant with extended run kit
1 larger or 2 smaller generators quieter?
Is the power "cleaner" with a single inverter vs 2?
