Buell Fans? Need a Price Eval

Is anyone here a Buell fanatic? Trying to figure out what my 98 M2 Cyclone is worth.

One owner, mods (Which obviously don't add value), clean title, freshly painted tank etc

29k miles. I rode the foolish thing once and that was enough.

I'd go up to 2500 depending on whether or not the bottoms of the pushrods were leaking and the rear shock looked in good shape or not. Subtract from there.

No leaks. Has a nice Penske shock.

You'd be surprised what the mods, particularly those peg relocators, shock, and seat, might fetch on BWB or ebay. You may find someone willing to pay 3k; pre-99 Cyclones seem to be more rare than the later models. Nice looking specimen.

It's got a bunch of CF stuff, OEM tacho set up, aftermarket rear sets, hyrdo clutch, Penske, Mikuni HSR, Staintuned exhaust, oil cooler and steering damper. I'm sure some other stuff I haven't really touched it since riding it

I believe I may have the PitBull TRS pins for that bike if interested. Just saying.

Re: Buell Fans? Need a Price Eval

I'd start at $3K, negotiable, OBRO, etc.

Maybe browse this forum for comparisons:
Buell Forum: Buell Motorcycles for Sale
    ... for example,
"Blue 1997 Buell M2 Cyclone 6/10 condition with 16527 miles in Milford, MI for $2400
K&N air filter, Vance&Hines exhaust, rejetted to match. Good tires, new brakes.
Cloth saddlebags, S3T seat and tank. Factory tach added.
I am the original owner; I bought the bike brand new. It runs great and handles great. It’s had all the factory Buell upgrades (brakes, rotors, suspension) done by the dealer."

    What was foolish about it?

I road my brothers '98? S1 White Lighting and 99-00? X1Lighting. My only complaint would have been that they wheelies too easy and would get me in trouble.

cool bikes. It's funny, tune a Harley to make power and they sound REALLY good.

    It's idling..on the kickstand...walking down my driveway....
I mean I guess it is kinda cool how it makes gobs of torque at 1 RPM but the vibes are pretty bad imo

I took one for a spin about a month ago, doesn't ride to bad. I like the upright riding position and torque. Kinda like my SV when I had the N bar setup. Just don't care much for the vibration at idle.

I rode a hotted up cyclone once, it didn't just walk on it's stand at idle, you had to hold it or it'd drop it self. Touch the throttle though and it went damn near glass smooth. Rode just fine.

    I don't know I guess it's just me but I can't do "upright"
My coworker just bought his first bike in May, Kawi Er6N. Told me to take it for a ride - he's better on it than I am, for some reason I just don't trust stuffing it into a corner at full lean. I feel the same on this Buell.

I guess fairings do make me faster.

Re: Buell Fans? Need a Price Eval

it's a bars vs clipons thing. I have no problems diving right in and having my chin on my hand when in a full tuck, because my bars are upright.
Clipons make me feel all cramped and weird.
    Different strokes, as they say.
