Current hotness for inexpensive CNC levers?

What's the current hotness for inexpensive CNC levers? There seem to be hundreds of 'em on eBay, and I'm not sure whose are good and whose are bad.

Any recommendation? I'd like something adjustable if I can get it. This is for the '00 VFR...

I'm shopping on eBay for a replacement too. If they're strong/good enough for a race bike, they're good enough for your VFR street bike.

Someone tell me for sure they're not just eBay levers that are just resold. That thought has crossed my mind before

That's a blanket statement. Asian made cheaper levers does not automatically crap EBAY quality product.

If you know Mike then you would know just how anal and OCD he is regarding quality and engineering. He personally vouches for the quality of these levers. If he doesn't agree with the build quality he wouldn't sell em. I remember he went to extreme lengths to vet the manufacturer.

What brand is that? I will probably end up going with 434's stuff given that he is a NESRer and LRRSer.

CRG Levers!!! It was the first reply to the thread!

I like the look of them, and I have had mine for like 6 years now. Cheap, but still not crap.

I'd +1 buying from someone you know. I don't know about CRG levers, but I bought some cheap chinese ones. I think I even posted on the "Cheap Chinese Rotors" thread that I'd probably go with 434's levers if I had it to do over again. That was BEFORE I had any problems.

I put the clutch side on like 6 months before I put one on the brake side to make sure it held up .

On the clutch side there is now a ton of free play where the shaft of the lever fits into the adjuster at the base. I was OK with the first one being like that because it was on there for a while and had been through some crashes. I popped on a replacement (they were cheap, so I bought spares just to have), but even a couple weeks later and NO crashes, the replacement has a bunch of free play in the same place. The nylon lock nut seems tight, but I think it's just not a great design.

Note: I also had to file the lever down to get it to fit in the perch. Here's what I bought (more as a warning that you should go with something else)

+1. I bought both clutch and brake shorty levers and they are working out very well. 1 crash and they held up great. He does not sponsor me in any way so I have no reason to hype him up other than to say they are a good product. Bought his titanium caliper bolts this weekend too and so far so good.

I just got a set from Mike. They are exactly what you need. I crashed pretty hard and they are still intact.

Be very careful with eBay levers. I put a set on my 848 a couple of years ago, and the pivot was machined incorrectly, leading the brake lever to never fully disengage. It toasted some pricey rotors $$

When it comes to brakes, I'd go straight to a brand name manufacturer and pull my pants down, smiling as I do it.

Just wondering, because I heard they are a good product.

But really. I loved mine from him.

Mike has them manufactured specifically for him. In China? Maybe, you'll have to ask him. But he controls design and material. And they're awesome.

Which reminds me. I need to install the ones I have on both bikes.
