I thought about doing that, but the dealer told me the bike was set up to run 87 octane. I didn't think it would make a difference, but I really don't know.

Higher octane will not hurt it, lower might.

Seems like i get better performance from 87 octane than from 93.

As a general rule, you will get the best performance out of the lowest octane you can run without detonation.
