So I'm gonna be getting ready to do a rebuild on the 125 motor in the off season. Obviously a top end, which I have parts for already (minus gaskets). I am wondering about the crankshaft. It is tough because I don't really know how many miles are on it since I just bought it. I will just replace it this winter just in case. Not entirely sure how much it will set me back in parts, but I think a crank is about $275.. If I expect $750-1000, I should be safe I guess. Paul, what have you found to be the case?

Steve sells a rebuild kit that includes ALL the seals and gaskets, crank, rod, piston, for around 600 bucks. You could have someone else do it for around 1100 bucks total.

THere are some special tools required to do the bottom end, which I don't have, so I send mine out.

My friend Tyler does his own rebuilds, and might be willing to host a "rebuild workshop" this winter. I'd be interested in checking that out myself.
