You never want to go to your typical hardware store, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.. for anything to do with your bike unless it's a H-D.

Even if they had crush washers they probably wouldn't have had one that fit since 99% of what they carry is not metric.

thats not true...they have metric bolts....just none that you'll ever need
