Carb help please.

just put your whole carb assembly complete in a bucket of highly corrosive acid solvent for 3 days--no more--then immediately remove them, soak in a warm water soapy solution for 2 hrs, then rinse with cold water only + leave out in the sun to fully dry for 1-2 days. your problem will be solved!!!

Doc, try the same thing!!

There were motors using POINTS manufactured during this decade? That's incredible to me, I was under the impression that everything had converted by about 25-30 years ago -- I figured that mass produced CDI systems must have been cheaper (as well as better) by now.

Amazing, you learn something new every day.

Apparently they switched in the early 90s. This motor is ancient tech. These are the bread and butter bikes for these companies. Development cost are close to zero, so profits can be high.
