in need of a tune-up/inspection

my ninja 2fiddy needs an inspection...and could certainly use a tune up...

anybody know of a good place to go or know somebody who knows how to do some tuning up themselves!?

i'm also having some throttle issues under 8000rpms...like a weird popping noise and some major throttle bog going from a stop up until like 3 or 4,000

any help would be great!!!

duey works at Massachusetts Motorcycle ATV Dealer - Riverside Kawasaki, Yamaha,Ducati, Triumph, Scooter, watercraft

but if you take it to any shop/ mechanic you're most likely going to be paying an arm & a leg for a full tune-up, between air filter, valves, & all that other stuff... I dont even know if they actually clean your carbs.

ever thought of doing it yourself? it's pretty simple; u just gotta dedicate the time & do a little research.

is your 250 carbed or fuel injected? sounds like your carbs could use a cleaning & maybe new plugs to start...

i'm going to be talking my carbs apart sometime after next weekend I think for a cleaning & rejet when my exhaust comes in. you're welcome to come by & we can look at your carbs too. I live right by the autozone so we should be good as far as litte things like cleaner & spark plugs.

If you go ask for a tune up at a dealership you'll likely get new spark plugs and a bill for $500. I'm sure there's plenty of people on this site that would do the work for you. Probably just plugs would do the trick, maybe a filter. What does the bike have for milage?

hey is aaron your boyfriend?

he should come over too. we can drink some beers & tinker with motorcyces on my patio.

if u wanna do it that way, just get an airfilter & spark plugs for your bike from Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories by BikeBandit.com or something. we can take it apart & figure it out. I usually get my inspiration around beer #4. just dont let me get "creative" with anything. I have a self-tapping screw holding my carb body together that I'm not too pleased about.

just kidding. I wont ruin your carbs

this weekend is no good; i'm going to Maine right after I get outta work on friday. going back to my redneck roots: Bud, fishing, shotguns.

we can figure something out after that. I have the following friday off & all weekend. I'll probably have my bike all set if we do it then. we can do your bike quick then maybe go riding. so no beers. maybe beers afterwards?actually the weekend of friday the 17th would be perfect for me. my night classes are ending the night before so I'll be freeeeeeee again.

yea we can look at the choke cable. shouldnt be too hard.

Steph... your bike smells like a gasoline refinery

I was thinking if the bike got stuck choked it would do that, but I haven't played with carbed vehicles too much. Its definitely dumping way too much gas for some reason. Hopefully a quick cleanup of the carbs, and maybe the choke cable will sort it out.

I already told Spicey about hooking up, (I guess he forgets stuff). Just gimme a heads up, and we can have at it.
This Saturday is out, my Daughter and I are getting a dose of nitro methane at New England Dragway. Sunday is still open though.
