Thumbs up

I'm bogless once again

Huge kudos to Mark, a.k.a. TLRMan. He spent the better part of 8 hours today sorting out my bogging issue between 2500 and 4000 RPM. This has been an issue that has been plaguing me since mid season last year and I finally made the time to get up to Beverly, MA to have Mark work on it.

We got a bit worried midway through when one of the air/fuel mixture screws was seized so bad he has to cut it down a little.

After 8 hours of carb synching, air/fuel tweaking, and finally shimming the needles a little, my CBR is once again running smoothly. It was a day of trial and error and I got to learn quite a bit.

Mark thinks it started bogging possible due to the packing in my header getting worn and the bike was probably on the edge of being really lean, so the lack of back-pressure just made it run too lean.

When I'm home, I will. Latest client isn't in San Francisco this time, but in the stick of Bentonville, AR. Trying to stay local most of the time this time.

Wow, I don't think any bike I have ever owned has even had any rpms under 6k, so i wouldn't know how they run down there in the no-power zone.

See Degsy, There IS power there, I just had to hit the engine with a really big HAMMER!

Chuck, Was a pleasure having you over, and glad we could finially get things sorted...It's always those unforeseen things that make it a challenge!
Hope to hook up again soon.
