So I have to mention that

Mark (TLRMan) is my hero I can't believe the difference in how my baby is running. WHAT MARK DOES IS BEYOND AMAZING!!!! So here is the long and short of it....

The Problem:
- Wicked bad throttle lag and my idle with my full arrow exhaust system was revving quite a bit, almost to the point where at very low RPM, it felt like I would fall off the bike if I wasn't careful...
-FI light was constantly on, even though we thought the correct wire had been removed to fix that problem.... Stupid f*n translations from Italian to English... couldn't even get the pin # or color correctly.

The process of solution... hooked her up to the computer and plugged in the PC3 to see what she's running... I had the general map for the arrow exhaust loaded and we couldn't figure out why the computer was not recognizing the RPMs. So after quite a bit of problem solving with error codes finally revealed, we realized that the instructions for the Arrow/PC3 installation dictated that the wrong wire be pulled... After looking on the "wonderful site" of gixxer.com, we were led to another exhaust's manual which told us the correct wire to pull.... So we soldered the cut wire and got the FI light to turn off... YAY no more error code! But, another problem, we still weren't getting RPM readings on the computer... So after a little bit more of scratching our heads, the bf and Mark picked up on some other things (throttle bodies balanced and stuff with wiring harnesses) to get it working properly and VIOLA, we get RPM readings.... after that it only took a couple of runs down the street and on the "dyno" to get it how I liked it....

So again, long story short, I've fallen back in love with my bike all over again, and can't even begin to describe how happy I am that my bike is finally all fixed up like it should have been when I first bought it!!!! THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH Mark, I know you could have found other ways to spend your day and I really really appreciate everything you did.

Mark is the man........

spent the whole day helping her sort out her problem and even answered all my dumb questions. I took home alot of information pertaining to Alicias bike but nothing i am willing to mess with....... ill fuck up my bike first.......

I took one little ride when we got home an i was floored. the amount of power that is well within reach is amazing. her bike has as much if not ,dare i say it, more power than my bike has in the mid-range, which isn't saying much about my bike, but is smooth as silk and is completely usable......

all i can say is thank you she is 150% pleased at the way her bike turned out and i am 100% shocked that i now have that much more respect for the GIXXA?!?!?!?! hahaha no its a GSX-R baby!

I also have to say that before we even set up the ride she was looking for, the amount of time he spent on deducing the problems we had was phenomenal. very patient and very knowledgeable.

Thanks Mark

It was great to have you two over.
Was quite a project huh?
Have Alicia ride it for a while, and if she needs anymore tweeking, we can do that too. I have a copy of the PCIII map, so it'll just be plug and play.
So, when am I gonna see that R1 of yours?????

It was quite a project, but it was worth it. its not even the same bike anymore, not even close. it has improved by leaps and bounds.

After her little ride home yesterday she was grinning ear to ear..... she loves how it turned out. She did have a few small things that tripped her up especially the clutch adjustment, but i am sure after some more time riding it she'll have a better idea.

As for the R1, lets just say that my new goal for the end of the summer will include a trip to the master.

I am not going to announce anything, but i am in the thinking phase, it may pan out it may not, but we'll see.

I can't say it enough mark thanks. you went above and beyond what was needed.

you are the man

so will all the fixes prevent you from almost hitting my rear tire

I hear great things about TLRman from everyone on NESR. Kinda nice to know there's good mmebers on here willing to help a rider out.

Mark, do you make maps for PCIII or just use the maps off dynojet's site?

I'll take a base map, (made for your bike pipe/airfilter) and reconfigure it to take out any glitches. I look for a nice smooth power delivery in all rev, and load ranges. Who cares what it does WFO? That's great for Dyno wars, but not for "real world" riding.

I actually took some fueling out of Alicia's map, so sometimes it's not adding fuel all the time to sort things out.

You also have to understand that most of these maps come from bikes run in Arizona, and NOT from around here. The maps will come close, but not always perfect.

I have an inexpensive Dyno, (maybe I should invest in a real one?) but I hear a lot of things that most people don't too. Like the exhaust note, or how the engine is hitting at an idle, too much ignition lead, it just comes all together. Don't ask me how I do it, lets just use it until it goes away. Maybe it's from my countless beatings about the head I used to get from my EX Wife!

Alicia's was good..I watched the line on the dealer mode when sorting out the other problems..... Come to think of it, I never did meantion that to them, it was just an observation, and I didn't have to act on it.

The throttle bodies were out of sync though...I like those 2 barrel designs, saves me some time!

Yup, you need to go up on the main jets, and the pilots, and shim the needles. A snorklectomy should be in order too.

What do you charge? Beer?, food?, Money? Does the bikle have to have a PCIII on it or can you work magic from stock?

If you have a PC it will help tune out problem areas, if you don't, we do the usual TB sync, check the TPS, add a TRE (Zuki's), and send you on your way. These get done anyway if you have a PC or not.

My rates are based on how much you help.
All kidding aside, it's called "making a donation"
Off site people are told it's $50.00/hr
But you just pay what you think it's worth to you, or you can go to a stealership, and spend $800 for 1/2 as much work. I've even had to machine up some parts for carbs and stuff, to make things right. You won't get that through a dealership.
I'm just here to help out fellow riders, and make a couple bucks on the side.
Ask the people I've done work for, and they will fill you in.

I Know and completely appreciate what you do, worth is a completely subjective term, to get top performance out of a bike is worth top dollar. I would be more interested in the knowledge of how to do it rather than just pay someone to make it right. I'm sure i'll talk to you later on about this...

Re: So I have to mention that

I heart TLRMan. He's about the only person I'd let touch my TL-R. Anyone who knows me knows that that's saying a lot. It's been years since he's worked his mojo on the TL-R and it's still running top-honkin'-notch. Haven't hadta do a damn thing to it since he slid his magic across it...

I am however, intending to see him towards the end of the summer. It's getting time to do some shit I've been putting off...

Yeh, Mark's definitely one of those friends of mine that I feel lucky to have... Been riding with that old goat for 4 years now! He's taught me a lot & helped me countless times.

He also sorted out Jenni's GS500. He had carburetor parts SCATTERED all OVER her counter top putting new throttle shaft seals in there. The thing was running great once he finished the job... Unfortunately it's only running on one cylinder now but I'm sure he can fix that, too if I don't get to the root of the problem first
