Brand new broken bike.... bummed

Talk about a major disappointment. The first new vehicle I have ever purchased is my 2008 Triumph Street Triple. Ride it off the dealer lot with 0 Miles. Get home with 53 miles. Get on for ride two, and bike refuses to shift out of first. Adjust the clutch, next thing I know something pops and the linkage is completely free hanging out of the transmission, no longer engaging/disengaging the clutch and the bike is unrideable. Totally bummed....

Re: Brand new broken bike.... bummed

I was so pissed at my bike. Next thing I know jro is about to knock out some dude and his wife. I'm not even in neutral cursing my bike and she's off her bike and yelling face to face with the guy. It was a very interesting day....

I'd rather have a Triumph with some problems than a gixxah

You should have kicked the guys wifes ass and let her take on the guy

Reminds me of a time I was at a bar with this chick. Out of nowhere she tweeked on this guy and I was getting threatened by him and his friends. I found out later he grabbed her ass....Can't say I blame him, she has a great ass.

It'll get sorted.

I don't want to jinx myself, but I've had 2 trouble free years on my 675. Hasn't sipped a bit of oil (that was my big concern with this engine).

Things could be worse. It's all under warranty so I'll get it handled. Not like I dumped the bike on new tires.

Other people on here have talked about the benefits of buying bikes that are a year or more old. Perhaps getting all these break-in quirks taken care of before they buy it is one such reward.

I hope the dealer takes good care of you.
