Last minute oil change

hey guys I need to do a last minute oil change for a possible ride tonite and the ride to laconia tomorrow. I have filters but I need to know whats the best type of oil I can pick up for my zx9 at autozone or napa that doesnt have the crappy friction modifiers?

autozone has mobile 1 racing 4t, and v-twin oil. You'll be all set!

Re: Last minute oil change

I thought the Shell Rotella was okay for bikes.

I also believe that the oil used in diesel engines is acceptable as well, however I could be wrong on both accounts.

I've heard of it all over the FZ1 forum. Never tried it myself, however.

The way I understand it is, as long as the oil DOESN'T have friction modifiers and is also rated for heavy duty use, it's okay....like the diesel oils, for example.

Also, if you really really really need oil, I have 2 gallons of Yamalube....I think 20-40 and 10-30.

You're more than welcome to stop by if you wanna change your oil on your way up to Bike Week.

Re: Last minute oil change

I started using the standard Rotella in my SV from my last oil change. The shifting definitely felt a little nicer, and you can't beat the price. I'll stick with it until I find a reason not to.

Re: Last minute oil change

I used to buy Racing 4T, but that shit is expensive. Using fully synthetic shell rotella t now in blue jug without any problems. It costs more than half off what I used to pay for Mobil for 1 oil change.
