X-tra line from fuel tank??help...

Lets see if I can blurt this out so someone can understand....
My fuel tank has 3 lines coming from it (1 small & 2 big ) ....mmmkay
1 big one goes to the fuel filter then fuel pump (no problem)

1 small one runs down to the black canister (cali. emissions I think)

Which leaves me with a x-tra hose coming from the tank. The end of the hose has seemed to have broken near the end andI'm not sure where it goes.
Is it just an "overflow" "vent" line and should just be ran to the bottom of the bike?
I discovered this while going over all of the hoses on the Cali. emissions BS. When I found I had hooked up a vacum hose wrong.

Thanks to Bemused I have learned a valuable leasson about vacum hoses & there proper conection

Overflow, runs to bottom of the bike or stuffed inside the frame cavity on a Honda CBR.

I'll get a new piece of hose and route it down low............
I really hate all that Cali. BS, cause it just add's more confusion...I know I had a hose backwards in there......My repair manual doesn't show anything and all I have to go by is the diagram on the fender.....
I have been wanting to find another 86' vfr with OUT the cali. emission stuff to compare & DELETE
