As of now, the site is set up to automatically purge anyone's account without a post after 365 days. I'm seriously thinking of changing that to like, 30 or 60 days...

Also thinking of setting it up so that ONLY members with at least 100 posts can post in the FOR SALE/WANTED area. I fuggin' hate it when someone logs on and makes ONE post - and one post only - to pimp something...

I know I'm new here, but 100 posts is a lot. Especially at first - I lurked around for a week or two before I really started posting anything to get a feel for the board, and even now I still don't post all that often compared to some here. A few of the forums that I'm on aren't as laid back and conversation-based as this one, and I personally still don't really post here with that mentality (although that may change...)

I'd think that even 50 posts would give you a pretty good idea of someone's character to post in the for sale section, and it's enough so that you know they're actually contributing to the board somewhat.

But that's just my two cents. Take it for what it's worth.

ya know what... I dont really have a problem w/ people registering only to place a FS/WTB ad... i know i've done it. it's taking advantage of a good opportunity to get your ad out there for free & in a community that would be interested. And if someone here is interested, well then, maybe that's the only way they woulda found out about it.

The only problem with that (and I've seen this on a few other boards I'm on, or run) is the vendors that sign up to spam their business, and they don't give the board any recognition or compensation from the sale.
