Question

When you're watching the world go 'round

in "Who's online". What does "Viewing Attachment in Thread " mean?
Is that when the user has clicked on a link?

That what it appears to mean. I can't think of anything else but that.

It usually means that someone has linked directly to an attachment from somewhere else... then someone is only viewing that attachment, not the actual posts in the thread.

Round 2 of thinking that over....

....that couldn't be totally accurate because why would registered members be viewing attachments via links from other sites? I dunno...maybe if you view a thread with an attachment, that's what it says, if the attachment is the last thing on the page to load.... *shrug*

i *think* it means that someone's looking at a thread that has an IMG link to a picture in another thread on the site.

i think.

but don't quote me on it.

I don't think that's it...it says 'viewing attachment'. An img tag pic isn't an attachment.

i meant an IMG tag link to a pic attached in another thread.
reason why i think this:
i linked the leghumper pic from another thread where greg had attached it.

that day i saw a lot of "viewing attachment in thread foo" where foo was the thread i linked from.

ack.
does any of that make sense?

Hmm...I've never seen 'viewing attachment' in reference to an off-site thread.

on-site thread.

attach a pic in one thread.
start a new thread, and link to the original thread.
then you'll see it.
i think.
