In an effort not to pick a fight with Bryan..

Did Kerry ever promise to go out in the rain?

I don't know.. I can't be made to feel bad for people who decided to go stand out on a cold New England night if they weren't prepared for nasty weather. It IS New England after all.

It's not as if Kerry was going to somehow make them feel warm and dry.

It's called common courtesy, and appreciation, for your supporters that are out there waiting in the cold and rain waiting for YOU. If you think that's something you have to "promise" to do...

Might as well have an intelligent discussion about the election instead of wondering why he chose not to go out in the rain.

Where did Bush set up? Did it rain there?
Well I think we should put the whole "trolling" thing to bed, enough of this cliche. This is Controversial Forums.

As far as Kerry not chosing to go out in the rain...

people voted for him in confidence that he would be a capable leader, but in the face of adversity he couldn't get up in front of his people and re-energize them? And you think he'd be a capable leader on the world stage?

Yes, he had promised that he would be there, win or lose. That's why I posted this thread...

no worries Ben.

btw Jeff, it's clear that you're bothered by all of this.
Joe... as with so many other things that are "clear" to you-- especially as regards me-- that just ain't true.

this is the result I expected.

I have no use for most polititians, Bush AND Kerry included.

I don't see much change to my life / lifestyle regardless of which of the two sock puppets won.

I genuinely hope that, since YOU obviously have such an emotional investment in this election, that the results bring you some joy!

(and no, I don't really believe that telling you the truth will change your opinion... )

I don't know what he could have said that would have energized them.

He hasn't conceded yet, at that time he should obviously speak.

But what was he going to say at a late hour last night? That his lawyers will fight?

Better to stay silent until things are known for sure. I think he would have had a good chance of sounding like a sore loser if he said something last night before he was ready to concede.
