Yeah, it's good and all that, but 3 years have already elapsed. It's soooo after-the-fact, the gov. got what it wanted already, and just because one US judge shakes his finger, I doubt W or Ashcroft are going to lose any sleep over it....

I thought it was funny...

Yesterday I was looking at Ashcroft's legal record after reading his resignation letter.

He definitely hasn't gotten everything he wanted.

Other than getting copyrights extended for big companies like Disney to stick it to us for even longer periods of time, most of his stuff has failed

- Abortion challenges
- Desegregation challenges - In the freakin 1980s!
- Civil liberties challenges
- Redistricting areas to disenfranchise black voters
edit: - attacks on free speech

What a quality guy!

I think his resignation shows that privately the Administration thinks he is a failure. Not one convicted terrorist since 9/11 and thousands imprisoned!
