crime is crime whether you are a member of a bike gang or not, it's like the fucking hate crime laws, crime is crime, just double the penalties for all criminals, not just a select few.

today, it's riders sporting hells angels colors on their jackets, what's next, riders with nesr stickers on their bikes, what's the difference, and organized ride that makes tripple digit speed runs is organized crime, right

THeres a huge differnce between an organized ride with people that speed versus the Hells Angels. At least in Ma speeding is not a crime its a civil motor vehicle offense -no jail time, pay a fine and get porked with surcharges. To become a member of Hells Angels the prospective member must commit some type of criminal offense. Prospective members can not have any members of there family involved with L/E . The book Three can keep a secret if two are dead by Yves Lavigne is an excellent book on the Hells Angels. if you read it you will see the difference Between sportbike riders who like to ride fast and enjoy there bikes compared to the Hells Angels. I have never heard of a Sportbike club shooting or beating up memberts of a Rival sportbike club. The only ass kicking occurs on the track

no shit there's a huge difference, yet the law can be stretched as far as the police & procuting attorneys want, maybe they won't get away with it, but you'll have to pay for a good attorney to defend you.

This can go both ways - and in the courts in Canada it did, and will continue to. However, similar laws exist in the US as well with regard to the mafia and mobs (often why these cases are tried in federal and not state courts as federal courts can act under RICO, a law specifically targeting racketeering). These types of criminal organizations facilitate and provide a substructure to commit crimes that may not be possible without that structure. Its a common psychological phenom konw as the "mob mentality" that when an individual is in a large group, perhaps in similar dress, perhaps with faces covered, or painted, it becomes easier for indiviuals to comit crimes as they feel they are not acting alone, but in a group and with support of the peers.

The idea of stricter jail times for members of these organizations is to deter them from joining these groups, and if these organizations didnt get started up many of these crimes may not be commited in the same fashion or frequency.

Hate crimes (someone mentioned them above) are a totally different animal and the idea behind stricter sentences there stems from the fact that the crime may have been perptrated against one person, but its effects stretch deeper into communities. Very different reasons for the laws and very different in practice.

some lady from NJ, was trying to have the RICO statues applied to the RIAA, hopefully she will prevail. Our court system and our laws are kinda f*%$#d anyways.

Every angel I know is a big teddy bear. Nicest people in the world. Don't get me wrong, they're tough, don't put up with a thing, and will lay out an army with a punch. But they're still nice as hell. I do hate the tough guy, badass attitude that they put out though. Posers.

My perception of Canada:
Great place to go camping in the 60's and 70's, sometime in the 80's they suffered an identity crisis. During the 90's the Canadians gained recognition and identity by dis-respecting the United States. Now, they are in vogue; US bashing.

Good for them, I have no use for Canada.

I like the Brits a hell of a lot more.

You might be bashing Canada as for it's government and the people who run the country...but don't look down on the "people"...I am from Canada, I do not associate with the way they run the country, the laws, etc. I am just a person who was born there and like the country for it's beauty, that is all. Beauty as in nature, mountains, lakes, etc. I'm on no one's side...because many americans talk shit about canadians, and many canadians talk shit about americans, and both of them talk shit about other countries and vice versa. It never ends. And I have no interest of listening to either side. I just wish people would get along, and people would STOP finding excuses for insulting each other, which seems to be an impossible thing to do?

Maybe I didn't read the posts closely enough. I see a lot of talk about the GOVERNMENT in Canada, but not any CANADIAN (residents or citizens) bashing. You gotta chill on this shit...

All I see is people talking about a rediculous law really, and Hell's Angels...

Much like your responses to just about any post about Canada. And redundant, and boring...

But really...do you think if I was talking shit about the US all the time that nobody would say something? I didn't think so either. Goes both ways. Anyway, no big deal and off to lunch!
